As a trustee of Minto Apartment REIT, Allan Kimberley brings a wealth of experience to the table from a notable career in finance. In 2014, he retired as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Investment Banking in Real Estate at CIBC World Markets, following 18 years of work in transactional activities that included debt and equity capital markets origination and execution, as well as mergers and acquisitions advisory services. Prior to joining CIBC in 1996, he worked with the Marcil Trust / DS Marcil / RBC Capital Markets team for 12 years, focusing on debt capital markets origination and execution, and ran the Canadian commercial lending group at Aetna Canada for the prior five years. Allan serves as a member of the Audit Committee.
Allan is a director of Orlando Corporation (Audit Committee and Workplace Safety Committee). He also serves on the Development Counsel of the Ontario Science Centre, and the Scholarship Committee of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Previously, he served on the board of First Capital Realty (Audit Committee and Governance Committee) from 2014 to 2018, and the board of Partners REIT (Audit Committee and Governance Committee) from 2015 to 2019. He was a member of the board of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from 2005 to 2015, (including a term as Board Chair) and on the board of the Ontario Science Centre from 2011 to 2020.
Allan received his Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and his MBA from the University of Toronto.
