As an experienced board member and investment-savvy real estate and financial markets executive with over 20 years of industry, capital markets and real estate investment trust experience, Heather is a natural choice as a trustee of Minto Apartment REIT. Heather serves as a member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committees.
Her successful career began in 1997 as a Real Estate Equity Research Associate at an independent Investment dealer. In 2002, she joined the real estate investment banking team at National Bank before taking on the role of Director and Research Analyst in 2009. Heather lead the Canadian real estate equity research team at BMO Capital markets from 2013 to 2018 as Managing Director and Estate Research Analyst covering large capitalization REITs across industry sectors. Ms. Kirk is the former Senior-Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Groupe Sélection, one of Canada's largest Seniors housing developers and was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cominar REIT before that. Heather received her Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and holds a Chartered Financial Accountant (CFA) Charter from the Association of Investment Management and Research.
She has several awards to her name, and is passionate about volunteering, travelling, genealogical research and all things active.
